Virgin for FAX


PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Tony Fernandes, the boss of AirAsia Bhd, has delivered on yet another promise although it took him over five years to do.

He has brought Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group to Malaysia as an investor in Fly Asian Xpress Sdn Bhd (FAX) after speculation that the flamboyant British billionaire was primed to invest in AirAsia during the nascent years of the low-cost airline.

The signing ceremony between FAX and Virgin for the latter the take a 20% stake in FAX for over US$6mil was held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre yesterday.

Well, it was a piece of good news for our malaysian. Sir Richard Branson with more than 200 businesses over 30 countries that comes with tonnes of experience not only in airlines business but almost everything from soft drinks to internet and so much more will only benefited Malaysia. For Dato Tony, it was another milestone in her major plan and just a question of when he will become the wealthiest men in our country, i strongly believe he will able to achieve that. Congrat to FAX, Sir Richard Branson will see the business opportunity in long haul low cost carrier and to all Malaysian, what a good piece of present to celebrate our 50th Merdeka.
