Tales of a Cup and Kopi

Something nice to share…..

'The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.'

A group of graduates, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee, the professor said: 'If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the simple and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee.

In most cases, it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups... Then you began eyeing each other's cups.'

Now consider this, said the professor, 'Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us. Enjoy your coffee!'

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything. Four things to take note of in life...

1. Live simply.
2. Love generously.
3. Care deeply.
4. Speak kindly.

Enjoy your coffee!!!

Yes, it is true and absolutely true.

Life will always be miserable as long as we keep it miserable. We need to live, not to live with what we want. We just work hard and earn enough to have sufficient to meet our expenses and keep some for the future. That some will someday become the wealth.

Then you would have achieve financial freedom.

But we have to save first and make sure save enough for that day to happen.

No man who is poor can be able to live well as expenses and inflation will continue to rise to the level that makes survival almost impossible.

i absolutely agree with you, the first step is we need to save constantly, make it a habit. as inflation continue to rise worldwide, it is hard if we don't have enough cash. nobody will allow his and family members to lower down the current standard of living, imagine a 3 storey shophouse in Kuala kangsar have just been sold for RM750,000! gosh, i mean yes, KK is royal town but the price is unbelievable. nobody want to be poor, start your saving today for tomorrow wealth.

An inspiring read. Makes me think of life in a positive manner whenever I take my daily cuppa in the morning.

I think the key point to remember is what you pointed out: we may not have the best of everything, but we should always make the best of everything we have.
